CBC Edmonton is reporting that a third Canadian, a young woman in her 20's from Jasper, Alberta, is confirmed dead in the Las Vegas shootings. A man from B-C and a woman from Alberta are also among the 59 people killed. Jordan McIldoon of Maple Ridge was just a few days short of his 24th birthday, and just a month shy of qualifying as a heavy-duty mechanic. Jessica Klymchuk of Valleyview was a mother of four who worked as an educational assistant, librarian and school bus driver. The attack late Sunday at the outdoor music festival also left more than 500 people injured, including at least five Canadians. The killer, 64 year old Stephen Paddock, was found dead in his hotel room...had 23 guns in the room...and another 19 at his home 80 miles away.

Moncton City Council has approved just over $181,000 for a 22 foot stainless steel sculpture that will be installed in the plaza at the new downtown centre. It is a tree with the word RESURGO growing out of the top of it. That's the city's motto...it means "I Rise Again". It's by an artist from Sussex named Peter Powning.

From the City of Dieppe: Melanson Road is completely closed today between Dieppe Blvd and Rouse Street...as well Dieppe Blvd south of Melanson will be closed...today through Friday...they're paving the new roundabout. 

Reminder: Lane reductions on Wheeler between Connaught and Université Avenue, in each direction, happening now until the end of November. The City of Moncton is installing a storm sewer outfall from Bromley Avenue across the highway to Halls Creek.

Some stats on last week's moose season released by the Department of Energy and Resource Development...An all time record 3,801 moose were killed...that's up 366 over last year. That's the largest harvest since the province opened the moose hunt back up in 1960.

Rocker Tom Petty is dead, that's been confirmed now by the way...there was a little confusion about what happened yesterday...A spokeswoman says the 66 year old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer died Monday night in Los Angeles after suffering cardiac arrest at his home on Sunday night in Malibu. Petty and his longtime band the Heartbreakers recently completed a 40th anniversary tour, which he hinted would be their last. He told Rolling Stone last year that he wanted to spend more time with his granddaughter.

The Moncton Wildcats are back in action at the Coliseum tonight...Cape Breton is in town...puck drops at 7pm. The Cats have invited the new senior baseball champs The Moncton Fisher Cats to drop the puck at tonight's game!

The Kansas City Chiefs are the N-F-L's only undefeated team after beating the Washington Redskins 29-20 on Monday Night Football. Kansas City won the game on a 43-yard field goal by kicker Harrison Butker with eight seconds left.
