A 49-year-old man from Moncton, N.B. has been charged in connection with four armed robberies at banks in Moncton in August and September. Terry Dean Leger was arrested after an attempted 5th robbery of the Omista Credit Union on Cornhill Street in Moncton last Thursday. Leger appeared in court on Friday and was charged with four counts of robbery, committing an indictable offence while having his face masked and attempted robbery. He's been sent for a 30 day psychiatric assessment. (The charges stem from the Codiac Regional RCMP investigations into the armed robberies that occurred on August 15 at the Advance Savings Credit Union on St. George Street, September 6 and 21 at the UNI bank on St. George Street, September 11 at the Advance Savings Credit Union on Weldon Street and the attempted robbery on October 5 at the Omista Credit Union on Cornhill Street.)

Thousands of residents of Moncton and Shediac spent part of Sunday night without power. 2,400 customers in the Shediac area were affected along with a few customers around Moncton and Lutes Mountain. Wind gusts around 75km/h were recorded at the airport on Sunday evening.

Today is World Mental Health Day...we're part of a pretty amazing event in a couple of weeks in support of the Atlantic Wellness Community Centre...they offer teens and youth free counselling here in the Greater Moncton area...you can help out now by donating candy and treats to the annual Monster Trot trick or treating event...and then bring the family out to the event on Saturday, October 28th at the agrena! Harvest House Atlantic, hosted its annual Thanksgiving banquet over the weekend and fed more than 200 people from the Moncton area. The meal was for people and families that are homeless, with little money, or nowhere to go on Thanksgiving. Close to 30 volunteers prepared and served meals at the event. Harvest House offers more than 150 meals a day, it plans to start fundraising now for its next big meal at Christmas.
