Gas prices dropped less than half a cent last night...a 4th of a cent to be exact...the new maximum for regular self serve is $1.09.4. Good news on Diesel and furnace oil though...both were predicted to go up...but they dropped about a half a cent too! (Get gas prices anytime HERE)

You'll appreciate this if you've ever been on a waiting list for an MRI...a new agreement between the Horizon and Vitalite health networks means 2350 more MRI's can be perfomed on patients in Moncton every year. The Dumont & Moncton Hospital will will offer another 20 hours of operation per week to patients at the two hospitals with the same 3 machines already in operation. The province says that the extra operational and medicare costs of the expanded service will be about $427,000 year.
Traffic note: The City of Moncton says there's paving happening today on Purdy avenue...so it's going to be closed between Mountain & Killam.
The provincial government said yesterday that no taxpayer money is going to be lost with Sears going out of business. Back in January the province announced that it was going to give Sears a bunch of money to set up those call centres in Saint John & Edmundston....up to $8.7 million...but none of that cash has been handed out yet. Opportunities New Brunswick Minister Francine Landry says: "Opportunities NB has not advanced any government funds to Sears Canada and has no plans to advance any funds to the company."
This is "special fall garbage collection" week in Dieppe...AKA "junk week". Residents are supposed to put the heavier stuff out for pick up on your normal garbage day. Household hazardous waste day will be held on Saturday, October 21. More details HERE.

The Moncton Wildcats beat Halifax 3-2 last night in front of almost 3,200 fans at the Coliseum! The Cats are 6-1-2 on the season and are on the road this weekend at Saint John Saturday night at Harbour Station.
