Traffic: The City of Moncton says that Elmwood Drive, between Massey Avenue and Magee Avenue, will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. today (Thursday, May 11) weather permitting.

Gas prices dropped almost a cent last night...officially down to $1.08.5 from $1.09.4. Diesel is down a cent and a half. (Check gas prices anytime HERE)

Up to $3 million announced yesterday to help the Parlee Beach water situation from the province and the feds. The money will be spent on infrastructure...that includes upgrades to the sweage lift stations and pump out stations for boats at the wharf. There's also money in there to study the water quality situation at the beach. Murray Beach is getting some of the money for it's sewage problems too. Some residents said after the announcement yesterday that they were disappointed that there isn't going to be a moratorium on development along the shore...that the new spending won't solve the problem.

The Province announced yesterday that hunters can start applying for this year's Moose Draw beginning Monday, May 15th. This year's moose season will run Sept. 26th-30th. Last year, more than 60,000 people put their names in the moose draw...4,643 were picked to go hunting...3,435 of them got a moose. (You can apply HERE beginning Monday)

Stanley Cup Playoffs: The Pittsburgh Penguins will play the Ottawa Senators for the chance to go to the Stanley Cup final...Pittsburgh shut out Washington 2-0 last night to move on. In the West...the Edmonton Oilers season is over...Anaheim won game seven 2-1 last night. The Ducks will play the Nashville Predators in the Western Conference finals.

The Moncton Miracles season is over...they were swept out of the playoffs with a 121-102 loss to halifax at the Coliseum last night.

The Saint John Seadogs are Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champs...they beat Blainville-Boisbriand 5-1 last night to take the Presidents Cup in a four game sweep. The Seadogs move on to the Memorial Cup...that starts next week in Windsor, Ontario.

The Toronto Blue Jays have won two series in a row! They beat Cleveland 8-7 last night to take two out of three from the Indians. Boston lost 7-4 in Milwaukee.
